1ST DEGREE MURDER and 19 Counts of ATTEMPTED MURDER WITH GANG ALLEGATION
POMONA - After deliberating for less than three hours, jurors on Tuesday found a former Marine not guilty of murder and 19 other counts associated with a deadly shootout with gang members last year. Our Client was facing over 50 years to life, but after a 30 day trail and intense cross-examination of the lead investigating detective and prosecution witness, the jury deliberated for 4 hours and found our client NOT GUILTY on all counts. People v. Stewart, Compton Court May 2007 - NOT GUILTY!
1ST DEGREE MURDER WITH GANG ALLEGATION
The DA claimed a secret jail cell recording was our client's confession to the crime, but after the defense argued to the Judge that the jury should hear the entire recording, which included a prayer, the jury fund the defendant no guilty. Because Mr. Stewart was represented by attorneys Eber N. Bayona and Brandon de Jonge, the jury found him NOT GUILTY of murder.
People v. Verdin, Newport Beach 2007 - HUNG JURY ON ALL 9 FELONY COUNTS!
CONSPIRACY TO COMMIT MURDER and 3 Counts of ATTEMPTED MURDER and 3 Counts of ASSAULT WITH A SEMI-AUTOMATIC FIRARM, STREET TERRORISM and CRIMINAL STREET GANG
After intense cross-examination of the prosecutor's witness, who claimed that she saw the defendant shoot the victim, the jury hung because they did not believe the witness.
